Caritas Pakistan Lahore organized a theatre for Peace and Social Change in collaboration with Ajoka Theatre on July 13, 2016 at renewal center, Youhanbad, Lahore. Rev. Fr. Joseph Shahzad (Diocesan Executive Secretary – Caritas Pakistan Lahore) welcomed all the participants and described the purpose of this theatre, which is to highlight the social issues and promote peace and social harmony in the society. Moreover he extended gratitude to the support of Information & Cultural Department of Government of Punjab and CKU for their support to make this event possible.

The team of Ajoka Theatre performed the play “Dekh Tamasha Chalta Ban” very skillfully and highlighted many social issues needed to be addressed. The play motivated the participants to have a close eye on social issues and be a change agenda for humanity. His Grace, Archbishop Sebastian Shaw expressed his joy to conduct this theatre for promotion of peace and social harmony in the society. He appreciated all stakeholders to join hands for bring social change and goodwill for the humanity. Mr. Sohail Warich (Executive Board Member – Ajoka Theatre) said that Ajoka is striving hard for social awareness on different community issues and they want community to think and be the ambassador of social change in the society.

Mr. Amjad Gulzar (National Executive Director – Caritas Pakistan) said that Caritas would like to spread this awareness of social change at broader level with maximum efforts. Rev. Fr. Joseph Shahzad (Diocesan Executive Secretary – Caritas Pakistan Lahore) thanked all stakeholders and expressed to continue these kinds of interventions in future as well.
